Hodgetts Ho's 2008-2009

History

The Hodgetts Ho’s team was created in 2008 as one of the original franchises of OHHA. The team has been able to maintain most of their stars; re-signing big names such as Czegledy, Beeson, Graffi and Mulji. The team has watched many players leave for free agency such as Patrick Bryrski (after deciding his talents were not up to par to the rest of the league), Brendan McGorman (cut by the general manager after several tough roster decisions) and most recently Conner Charlebois (after losing his motivation to play ball hockey). 

The Hodgetts HO’s had a very rocky start to their franchise as they went winless in their first year in the league. After the disappointment of losing the championship so handily to the O’s the players became much more motivated to perform this year. After several great drafting decisions by the Hodgetts HO’s brass, drafting players such as Austin MacDonnell, Cody Roberts and Alex Steele, the future looks truly bright for this team.  

At the start of the year, Justin Graffi, the general manager of the team made a key decision in re-signing defensive star Arman Mulji in as their starting goalie. The decision truly paid off as Mulji has become one of the league’s brightest stars. The Hodgetts HO’s has many bright moments in its history. The two greatest games are the franchise’s miracle overtime win, marking its first victory in its history, and its victory in which it overcame the odds and defeated the highly favoured Orchard O’s, clinching the first series victory.
